Meghan Markle friend, tech entrepreneur Christopher Bouzy, has published an essay in Newsweek defending the duchess against conspiracy theories.

When the 43-year-old posted a throwback video of herself dancing and twerking in her hospital room to the Baby Mama Dance during her labour with Princess Lilibet in 2021, speculation swirled that she 'faked' her pregnancy.

Bouzy, 50, hit out at "online trolls and conspiracy theorists" and shared a passionate defence of his pal.

Bouzy wrote that Meghan's life has become a "nightmare".

"Every joyful moment gets twisted into ammunition by people who've made destroying her their full-time job," he said.

"And we need to talk about what this sustained cruelty has done to a woman whose only crime was falling in love with a prince."

Bouzy appeared in the Netflix series Harry & Meghan in 2022, speaking out in defence of the couple who claimed they had been targeted during their time as working members of the British Royal Family.

In the documentary he claimed "it's about hatred, it's about race".

Bouzy directly addressed the "moonbump" conspiracy in his essay.

Critics have been claiming the duchess faked both of her pregnancies and instead wore a prosthetic belly and secretly used the services of a gestational carrier.

He described these allegations as "a special kind of cruelty".

"Imagine being nine months pregnant, your body aching, preparing to bring life into the world, and thousands of strangers are dissecting your every photo to 'prove' your baby isn't real," he wrote.

Bouzy said the conversation around the video perfectly illuminates the persecution of Meghan.

Despite the video being something intimate, and a moment many mothers could relate to, in just hours it became the perfect example for conspiracy theorists to make a case against her.

Bouzy said this wasn't "normal criticism".

"It's psychological torture designed to break someone's spirit. And the worst part? These aren't random acts of cruelty. They're coordinated, monetized, and amplified by people who profit from Meghan's pain," he claimed.

Bouzy also spoke of the real life danger such criticism poses and how that some of this hate has turned into "real world threats".

Prince Harry has expressed his concerns over the same for years, including in the Netflix documentary where he shared that his biggest fear was "history repeating itself".

Harry's mother Princess Diana died in 1997 in a car crash in Paris while being chased by paparazzi.

Although Bouzy has also been criticised for past comment he has made about the British royal family on social media, having once called Prince William a "balding muppet" and claiming photos of the Princess of Wales during her cancer battle were "fake".

The Duchess of Sussex spoke out about sharing the video during an appearance on the podcast Aspire With Emma Grede.

The pair were discussing authenticity, when Meghan asked: "Did you see my Baby Mama dance?"

She then explained: "That wasn't yesterday. That was four years ago. So it's also a really great reminder that with all the noise or whatever people do, there's still a whole life – a real, authentic, fun life – that's happening behind the scenes.

"I'm just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms," she added.
