Meghan Markle is back at work just days before #Megxit begins

Meghan Markle is back to work, just days before the official start of #Megxit on March 31.

The Duchess of Sussex has narrated a documentary called Elephant for Disney Plus, the news announced on the Disney Instagram account.

Alongside a photo of the documentary is the caption: "Disneynature's Elephant, an Original Movie narrated by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, starts streaming April 3, only on #DisneyPlus."

The documentary is being promoted alongside one called Dolphin Reef which also boasts a star narrator in Hollywood actress Natalie Portman.

Meghan, 38, signed a voiceover deal with Disney to narrate the film in return for a donation to wildlife charity Elephants Without Borders. It is her first job outside of the British Royal Family since her marriage to Prince Harry on May 19, 2018.

The voiceover was recorded in 2019 during the couple's six-week Christmas break in Canada.

Prince Harry was filmed spruiking his wife's voiceover skills to Disney CEO Bob Iger at the London premiere of The Lion King in July, 2019.

In the video, Harry, 35, is heard saying: "You know she does voiceovers?" while gesturing towards Meghan, who is standing next to him in conversation with Beyonce and Jay-Z.

"Oh really? I did not know that," the Disney chief replies.

"You seem surprised," Harry responds, before adding: "But yeah, she's really interested."

Who can pass up a sell like that?

And it seems the Duchess has her second gig already lined up, with speculation she may narrate her own character on animated TV show The Simpsons. Even Prince Harry may voice his own character on the show.

Simpsons producer Al Jean, said the idea to get the Sussexes as guest stars for the long-running show came after hearing that Meghan was interested in doing voice over work.

"We've talked about Harry and Meghan. I hear she wants to do voice over work," Jean told UK magazine Radio Times.

"So if they're reading this, give us a call!" he added.

Meghan gave up her acting career after her engagement to Prince Harry was announced on November 27, 2017. When the couple first met, Meghan was starring in hit US TV series Suits.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they would be resigning as senior members of the Royal Family in January 2020, announcing they wished to live lives independent of the British royals.

The pair expressed a desire to be financially independent and said they would divide their time between the UK and Canada, with recent reports suggesting they would also set up a home in California in the US, where Meghan's mother Doria Ragland resides.

As part of the deal, the couple will both continue their patronages with key charities.

The so-called #Megxit deal officially begins on March 31.
