Meghan Markle's famous friends pay tribute to Duchess on her 40th birthday

Meghan Markle's famous friends rallied on social media to mark her milestone birthday.

The Duchess of Sussex turned the big 4-0 on Wednesday in Los Angeles and while the British Royal Family sent their messages from across the pond earlier in the day, it was Queen Bey who led the charge in the US.

Beyonce shared a photo of Meghan as a child alongside with a birthday message, not just on social media but on the homepage of her official website.

And Meghan wasn't the only person celebrating a milestone birthday. The singer also gave a shout-out below the Duchess to Barack Obama, as the former US President turned 60.

British Vogue's editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful, shared a photo with the Duchess taken when she was guest editing the September issue of the fashion tome in 2019.

"Happy birthday Meghan," he said.

Meghan's make-up artist, who crafted her royal wedding look, is also a close friend.

Instead of sharing a photo of the pair, Daniel Martin simply shared an illustration of the Duchess at Royal Ascot in previous years, alongside a quote, never referring to Meghan by name.

"Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than YOU!" -Dr. Seuss," he wrote.

"Happiest Birthday my love!!"

Photographer Misan Harriman, who snapped Prince Harry and Meghan in their back garden for their baby announcement earlier this year also paid tribute.

"Happy Birthday to you dear Meg!" he said.

"Have a wonderful day and welcome to the 40 club sister!"

Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas and designer Misha Nonoo also honoured their close friend on her birthday by sharing her 40x40 initiative announcement.

"To celebrate the 40th birthday of my friend Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, I am contributing 40 minutes of mentorship to support women reentering the workforce," Nonoo told her Instagram followers.

Chopra Jonas congratulated the Duchess on the concept, saying in a lengthy post: "Now that's a great way to celebrate a milestone Birthday. Bravo, my friend."

Comedian and actress Melissa McCarthy, who helped Meghan announce her new project, shared their video on social media.

"Happy Birthday Meghan," McCarthy said.

"Today is my friend Meghan's 40th birthday (you know, The Duchess of Sussex!). She called to ask me to contribute 40 minutes of mentorship to support women reentering the workforce. I think it went...well? Of course I said yes! But we need you to join us, too."
