The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly in the final stages of planning the official launch of their charitable foundation Archewell.

Their plans to launch a new foundation were revealed earlier this year when The Telegraph reached out to the couple for confirmation.

Meghan and Harry had been hoping to keep the plans to themselves until after the coronavirus crisis but instead confirmed the news and explained they'd been delaying its launch for a more "appropriate" time.

Now, a source says they are on the brink of launching the foundation, telling People the Black Lives Matter movement has given them more focus on what they want their future work to be.

"As many others have, they have been moved to get their voices behind supporting both the COVID-19 response and Black Lives Matter," they said.

"They have had the opportunity to speak with some incredible thought leaders, and those conversations have been deeply educational and helpful in identifying the work they want to with Archewell.

"They are applying all their learnings to the future of the organisation."

The sourced added that the couple are excited to "see it all come together" as "it's what they have always dreamed of doing together".

While the real work of Archewell may not begin until later this year or early 2021, the source says all the couple's energy is now going into what that work will be.

They have since relocated with their son Archie from the UK to the US, where they are residing in LA near Meghan's mother Doria Ragland.

Archewell will allow the couple to continue the important work they were doing under the Sussex Royal brand which focused on veterans, mental health, women's rights and the rights of the LGBTQI community.
