Grace Kelly's grandson Louis Ducruet and wife Marie welcome first baby

Louis Ducruet, son of Princess Stephanie of Monaco and grandson of Grace Kelly, and his wife Marie, have announced the arrival of their first baby.

Sharing to Instagram, the new parents posted a photo of the newborn baby daughter's with a hospital tag revealing the bub's name.

Her proud mother announced the news with a sweet caption, writing: "Our little family has grown with the arrival of our little Victoire."

Victoire was born on April 4, seemingly at 6:15pm. It also appears that her father, Louis, is the one holding her.

Her grand-uncle was also excited to share the news, with Prince Albert of Monaco sharing the happy news while at a royal engagement on Tuesday.

"My nephew Louis Ducruet and his wife Marie have the joy of being parents of a little girl," Prince Albert announced on stage while distributing diplomas to graduates of a Red Cross volunteer program.

Louis' sister, Camille Gottlieb, was also present at the ceremony, reportedly smiling ear-to-ear at the prospect of becoming an aunt.

Victoire is now 16th in line for the Monegasque throne, with her father being number 15 in the line of succession.

The new baby is also the first grandchild of Louis' mother, Princess Stephanie of Monaco, making Grace Kelly her great-grandmother.

Louis, 30, has previously shared that he has long-hoped to be a father, telling Gala magazine in December 2022: "I've been waiting for it for a very, very long time, it's true. In fact, I've wanted to be a dad since I was 26."

He also wanted to carry on the royal tradition of his baby being born in the same room as him, adding: "A room is reserved for the Princely family when there is a birth. Normally, it should be the same."

Louis was born in the Princess Grace Hospital Centre in Monaco, named after his grandmother.

He and his wife Marie Hoa Chevallier, who is of Vietnamese descent, married in 2019 after having had a long relationship, first meeting in their first year of business school.

She now works as an event coordinator in luxury hospitality, whereas Louis works with his father Daniel as co-managers of Monaco-based company MONADECO.
