Sweet moment between King Charles and Camilla as they greet crowds at palace
A sweet moment between King Charles and his wife Camilla has been captured by photographers, as the royal couple greeted crowds outside Buckingham Palace.
As the King faced his first 24 hours as the new monarch, after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, he had a steady presence by his side throughout in Camilla, Queen Consort.
Having farewelled his mother in Balmoral, Scotland, His Majesty had to returned to London in order to begin his official duties and was greeted by thousands of well-wishers on his arrival at the palace.

Stopping his car outside the palace gates, Charles and Camilla got out to greet the public, instead of driving past them.
As he made his way down the long line of people waiting to catch a glimpse of their new King, two women took the opportunity to kiss Charles – one woman on the cheek, another on the hand, moves that surprised him.
The King remained gracious as he accepted messages of condolences and flowers from members of the crowd, taking his time to shake hands and chat to people.
With the eyes of the world on him, a photo shows Camilla placing her hand reassuringly on His Majesty's back, as he faces cameras and photographers.
The couple also spent some time viewing the hundreds of tributes to Queen Elizabeth, which were left at the palace gates, before they made their way inside Buckingham Palace for the first time, as King and Queen Consort.

The King shared a gushing tribute to his wife Camilla as she takes on the role of Queen Consort.
Addressing the world in his first speech as monarch overnight, the King spoke of the changes happening in his own family.
"I count on the loving help of my darling wife, Camilla," he said.
"In recognition of her own loyal public service since our marriage seventeen years ago, she becomes my Queen Consort.
"I know she will bring to the demands of her new role the steadfast devotion to duty on which I have come to rely so much."
