Kate joins tennis fans in the ‘normal’ seats at Wimbledon
Tennis fan Kate Middleton has visited Wimbledon on Day 2 to watch England's Harriet Dart triumph over Christina McHale from the US.
The match took place on Court 14 on Tuesday morning, with the Duchess of Cambridge carefully watching every moment of the showdown — but not from the exclusive royal box.

In an unusual move for a member of the Royal Family, Kate, 37, opted to sit among the regular seats to watch the match instead.
The royal mum of three was in good company, sitting alongside Britain's Fed Cup captain Anne Keothavong and British number three Katie Boulter.

The move didn't go unnoticed by fans, either.
On social media, many praised the Duchess for sitting among fans rather than in the more exclusive viewing spot she typically occupies.
The mum of three, 37, returned to the royal box at Centre Court later in the day to watch Tatjana Maria play Angelique Kerber.
There, the Duchess—who is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Crocquet Club— sat next to Wimbledon Chairman Philip Brook.

Kate dressed fittingly for a day at the tennis, wearing a white dress cinched at the waist by a black belt with a bow.
She teamed the outfit with a classic pair of Ray Ban sunglasses that she pushed onto the top of her head on occasion throughout the event.

In her official role as patron, Kate also visited the Aogangi Park to see the practice courts and warm-up area.
She then met with a number of finalists and winners nominated for the annual Lawn Tennis Awards, which recognises people who volunteer at grassroots level to grow and open up the sport.

The Duchess was also photographed chatting with British players Andy Murray and Johanna Konta.
Kate visited Wimbledon solo this year after attending the tournament with her husband Prince William and the Duchess of Sussex in 2018.

Meghan remains on limited official duties as she slowly transitions back into royal life following the birth of her first child with Prince Harry, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, born on May 6.
However, it’s speculated she will attend Wimbledon this year to cheer on her friend Serena Williams.
