Duchess of Cambridge meets with Love Actually director Richard Curtis for new project

The Duchess of Cambridge had a meeting with Love Actually director Richard Curtis this week.

The pair had a catch up at Kensington Palace on Wednesday according to the Royal Court Circular.

While it's not known exactly what their meeting was about, it's understood Kate and Prince William are contributing to a new mental health project the Four Weddings and a Funeral writer on a new mental health project.

The Duchess met with the famed producer as the Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - which has the mental health initiative Heads Together.

And mental health is an issue close to the heart of Curtis, who lost his sister to suicide.

"I was so privileged and we had so much money and so much access and still couldn't do anything," he said previously about the family tragedy at the Public Health England conference in 2017.

"I can't believe what it must be like for someone whose relatives aren't in that situation and they have nothing."

It's not the first time the Duchess and director have met. The two have been pictured chatting together previously at the War Horse UK film premiere in 2012.

Last week, Prince William -  who is also President of the Football Association (FA) - visited football club Hendon FC to hear about their mental health program as part of the Heads Up initiative - encouraging players and fans to talk about their mental health.

The campaign runs through the upcoming football season in the UK.

The Duke's visit to the club also coincided with the FA's launch of new guidelines for coaches and managers, to help them identify players with potential mental health issues and provide support.
