Kate Middleton talks about home-schooling challenges with Prince George and Princess Charlotte

Kate Middleton is just like every parent right now, facing challenges with home-schooling.

The Duchess of Cambridge made a rare morning television appearance and shared some insights into life at Anmer Hall with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

"George gets very upset because he just wants to do all of Charlotte's projects," the mum-of-three admitted, adding with a laugh: "Making spider sandwiches is far cooler than doing literacy work."

The royal joined ITV's This Morning via video call to launch her community photography project, Hold Still.

During the appearance, the Duchess also told co-hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about what isolation life is like for the Cambridges.

"We hadn't done a huge amount of FaceTime and face calls and things like that, but obviously we're doing that a lot more now, and actually it's been really great," the Duchess admitted.

The royal also revealed the lockdowns have brought the wider family closer together with daily calls — something they didn't really do before.

"We try and check in daily with family members and speak to them about news and things like that, and in some ways I suppose we've got a lot more face time than perhaps we would have done before but it is difficult," she said.

"It's hard to explain to a five and a six, nearly seven year old what's going on."

Speaking previously about home-schooling, the Duchess revealed she had kept going with school work during the recent Easter school holidays.

"We don't tell the children we've actually kept going through the holidays. I feel very mean," she confessed during a BBC interview.

Now that holidays are over, it's officially back to class for Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
