Kate and Camilla team up for Remembrance Day service

Kate Middleton and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwell have teamed up at the royal's Remembrance Day service on Sunday.

The Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Cornwell shared a balcony during the service at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office building in Whitehall, London.

The British royal family marked the occasion during the country's second lockdown due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic which say Kate and Camilla standing two metres apart on the balcony during the service.

The Queen shared a separate balcony with a member of her household, her lady in waiting Susan Rhodes.

On a third balcony was Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence, Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

The event was closed to the public who would usually gather for the occasion. Instead they were encouraged us all to take to our windows and doorsteps for a two minutes' silence at 11am.

During the service Prince Charles and Prince William laid wreaths on behalf of Her Majesty in memory of fallen soldiers and others in attendance watched on from a safe distance.

Also laying wreaths were Princess Royal and Earl of Wessex, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and opposition leader Sir Keir Starmer.

Also present at the service were former UK prime ministers Theresa May, David Cameron, Tony Blair and Sir John Major.

The royals were dressed in black with the Queen's black suit adorned with five poppies, thought to represent each service in the war: the Army, the Navy, the RAF, the Civil Defence and women.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore three poppies, and Camilla, one.

This year marked the first year Prince Harry was not in attendance. Prince Andrew also missed the service.
