Kate Middleton can't even wear a band aid without it being scrutinised

The Duchess of Cambridge is used to having every part of her outfit and appearance scrutinised.

After all, it's one of the drawbacks that comes with being a high-profile member of the British Royal Family, and the future queen consort.

But there's one thing the usually-immaculate Kate is seen with that has royal watchers questioning why.

The Duchess, 37, frequently wears band aids on her hands and fingers, and thanks to high-resolution photography, they never go unnoticed.

Clearly, Kate has suffered minor cuts or abrasions she's wanting to hide, but it's unclear what's led to the small wounds.

Most recently, the mum of three was pictured with a band-aid on her right thumb at the Chelsea Flower Show. She was unveiling her Back to Nature garden to school children ahead of the Queen's visit later that evening.

As Kate co-designed the garden and has been hands-on in its execution, perhaps she cut herself during the process.

However, it's not the first time she has been pictured with a band aid, or 'plaster' as the Brits call them.

We can remember at least five other separate occasions when the Duchess has been forced to wear a strip to protect her wounds.

When she arrived at the Tusk Conservation Awards on November 8, 2018, fans quickly noticed a small, circular band-aid on her right hand.

And just a week later, during a visit to the BBC on November 15, 2018, Kate's thumb was bandaged up – but this time on her left hand.

In November 2016, during an engagement at the Nelson Trust Women's Centre, Kate's left hand had a rather large band aid across it, suggesting a more serious wound than the others.

There was light-hearted speculation that cut might have come from the feline star of the movie A Street Cat Named Bob, whom Kate had met with the night before at the film's premiere.

The Duchess was photographed patting the cat with her left hand.

In January 2015, Kate's middle finger on her left hand was once again taped up during a visit to the Fostering Network.

Perhaps the Duchess, who has spoken about her love of cooking for her family many times, is simply a little clumsy in the kitchen and – like us all – has occasional mishaps.

One thing is for sure, there are those who'll always notice every bit of Kate's appearance no matter how hard she tries to look picture perfect.
