James Middleton comments on sister Catherine, Princess of Wales' health

James Middleton has commented on supporting his sister Catherine, Princess of Wales throughout her cancer battle.

Speaking to US Today, the author shared that Catherine is now, "doing OK."

However, he wanted to remain private about her health matters.

"It's not for me to share on her behalf, you know, how everything's going. But she's getting all the right support and focus that she needs. And like anything, it takes time to process," he said.

Both the Middletons and the royal family have been private about the ordeal, but James did share a tribute to his sister when she first announced her cancer diagnosis to the word in March.

He shared a sweet childhood snap of the pair in school uniform, telling his sister, "Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together.

"As a family, we will climb this one with you too".

He reflected on the message months on from his sister's diagnosis, with Kate now having finished her preventative chemotherapy.

"I like the metaphor of climbing a mountain. It's something that we've done as a family all of our lives, and you have to respect a mountain."

Middleton has now become an author, having written a book about his late dog Ella, who he says saved his life when he was in the depths of despair and contemplating suicide.

Just like Ella, one of her grandchildren is also bringing joy to Catherine's life.

Ella's grandchild Orla was taken in by the Wales family, with Middleton "certain" that she is doing her bit to keep the family happy.

"I know how much the dogs, for me, have helped in taking your mind off something," Middleton tells Hello! in its print edition.

"So I'm certain that for them, Orla is doing her job in supporting her family."
