The mistake no-one noticed in Princess Eugenie’s official wedding portrait

On Friday Princess Eugenie and wine merchant Jack Brooksbank tied the knot in one of the most lavish weddings of the year.

As with most royal nuptials a photographer was on hand to capture the special day.

However, some savvy fans have spotted an unexpectant guest in the background of one of the photos.

In the gorgeous shot, which features Princess Eugenie in a blush pink Zac Posen gown and Brooksbank at their evening reception, royal aficionados think they've spotted Prince Harry's ex-girlfriend, Cressida Bonas, taking a selfie.

The left-side of the image appears to have been deliberately darkened, leading to speculation that Bramall may have been aware of the presence of Harry’s former flame.

“How did you see that?! Good eyes!” wrote one Twitter user.

"She could have been checking her make up..I do this all time," remarked another.

But the mystery deepens as the woman in question appears to be wearing a printed skirt and a white top - a very different outfit from the blue Tory Burch dress and matching headband donned by Bonas at the ceremony at St George’s Chapel.

However, since the bride opted for an outfit change, it wouldn’t be a surprise if her friend also did.

The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and the British model/actress have been close friends for several years.

Eugenie even introduced her friend to her older cousin, with the pair dating from 2012-2014. The pair still appear to be close as Bonas was a guest at the Duke of Sussex’s May 19 wedding to Meghan Markle.

A relationship that many thought would lead to Bonas and Harry’s nuptials, but in the end fizzled out.

"Especially in this country, I find that people are very quick to put you in a box or put you in a corner and think, ‘Oh well, you’re that, so you must be that," Bonas told BBC Radio 4 in 2017 about how she felt “pigeonholed” as Harry’s ex.

"It’s incredibly frustrating, especially in the industry that I’m in. But you know, it is the way it is...It’s making a stand and saying, ‘Actually no, this is who I am, and this is what I want to do."
