Donald Trump's interactions with the royals: From state dinners to history making moments
US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have been treated to all of the pomp and pageantry the royals are known for during their state visit to the UK.
While state visits are often one of the most glamorous occasions on the royal calendar, it also gives dignitaries a chance to get in on the fun too.
For Trump, it's been a huge milestone in his career as president, so let's take a closer look at his interactions with the royal family so far.
A state banquet was hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle to mark the occasion of the state visit on September 17.
Trump was seated between the King and The Princess of Wales, no doubt one of the most interesting places to be on the table.
Catherine was all smiles as she shared a toast with the US President Donald Trump after his speech during the State Banquet.
The president described the Princess of Wales as "so radiant and so healthy" during his speech.
"Melania and I are delighted to visit again with Prince William and to see Her Royal Highness, Princess Catherine – so radiant and so healthy – it's so beautiful.
"It's really a great honour, thank you."
Trump and his wife will be in the UK for several days, but the milestone visit marks a first for not only him as president, but for those who have come before him too.
Addressing the monarch directly, Trump said: "This is truly one of the highest honours of my life".
"It's a singular privilege to be the first American president welcomed here and, if you think about it, it's a lot of presidents and this was the second state visit, and that's the first, and maybe that's going to be the last time.
"But this is truly one of the highest honours of my life, such respect for you and such respect for your country," he continued.
"For many decades, His Majesty the King has epitomised the fortitude, nobility and the spirit of the British monarchy and the British people."
Trump, in his remarks before the lavish state dinner, said the word "special" hardly did justice to the relationship between the trans-Atlantic allies.
"The bond of kinship and identity between America and the United Kingdom is priceless and eternal," Trump said.
It appeared as though Trump and King Charles had no issues chatting throughout the lavish dinner.
Both men, dressed in their formal white tie best, looked like old pals as they enjoyed themselves over the evening.
During his speech the king touched on Trump's British roots, his recent visits to the UK and in a nod to the president's favourite sport, said, "I understand that British soil makes for rather splendid golf courses."
