The father of four ran 10km though Aalborg, Aarhus, Esbjerg, Odense and Copenhagen/Frederiksberg alongside his family and the public.

And the fun certainly doesn’t stop there.

The rest of the week's schedule included a reception on the Danneborg yacht and the opening of a new research centre in Aarhus, along with the unveiling of the new portrait.

Then on his actual day of birth, the Prince will make an appearance on the balcony of Amalienborg Palace so the Danish people can catch a glimpse of him.

His mother, Queen Margrethe, and Queen Mary and their children Christian, Isabella, Josephine and Vincent will be by his side.

Later, a gala dinner will be held for the Prince where he will be joined by the rest of the Royal Family and other special guests.

To wrap up the week-long celebrations, a concert called The whole of Denmark celebrates the Crown Prince will be staged and enjoyed by the Prince and the Royal Family.

It may be one busy week, but it’s not every day you turn 50!
