Charles and Harry haven't spoken in months

Prince Charles and Prince Harry haven't spoken in eight months, according to a source.

Charles, 73, has reportedly been left "deeply shocked and hurt" by his son's comments about the royal family since he and wife Meghan Markle resigned from the monarchy.

"Charles very much loves his son and he will not be having a pop at Harry in return," the source has told The Sun. "It's that simple. He is not going to join in because loving his son is the thing that matters the most."

Instead, Charles is choosing to keep a "dignified silence".

Charles, like Prince William, has the future of the monarchy in mind.

Most recently Harry, 37, was accused of subtly "whacking" his father Prince Charles after cutting ties with Saudi billionaire Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz, a year before he was presented with a controversial CBE.

The Duke of Sussex said he severed ties with Mahfouz in 2015 amid "concerns" over the businessman's "motives", with claims he directed donation funds in order to dishonestly secure the honour, The Mirror reports.

According to The Times, Mahfouz's associates contacted people close to Prince Charles regarding the prospect of a CBE honour in 2011.

Michael Fawcett, a chief executive of one of Prince Charles' charities, later resigned over the "cash for honours" accusations.

Prince Harry was reported to have taken a large donation for his vulnerable children's charity Sentebale from the Saudi billionaire in 2013 but claimed on Sunday he had "severed ties" with the donor a year before his father presented him with a CBE in 2016.

Then there is the recent revelation that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex cooperated with authors of the book Finding Freedom, instructing aides to meet with them. This was revealed in recent court proceedings involving the ANL, publishers of Mail on Sunday, who were appealing a ruling against them for breaching Meghan's privacy by publishing part of a personal letter she had sent to her father Thomas Markle Snr in 2018.

A friend later told The Sun that Charles is deeply shocked and disappointed by Harry's latest statement which effectively threw his father under the bus and has real fears Harry will reveal even more of the family's struggles in his upcoming autobiography due for release in 2022.

"This attack was more damaging than the swipe at Charles's parenting skills because this was a challenge to the way he conducts his business which is far more damaging to the future King," they said. "There is no way for Charles to fight back and defend himself publicly so he keeps a dignified silence."

They said Charles hasn't spoken to Harry since Prince Philip's funeral in April, 2021.
