Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, celebrated her 72nd birthday on Wednesday, but it was a three-year-old royal fan who stole the show at her celebrations.

The birthday girl visited the Donkey Sanctuary in Devon on her big day, celebrating on the same day as the animal welfare charity's 50th anniversary.

Greeting locals and staff at the sanctuary, Camilla looked delighted when she was introduced to little Jacob Leney, whose mum works at the sanctuary.

The boy presented the duchess with a bouquet of posies before bursting into just about the cutest rendition of 'Happy Birthday' we've ever heard.

Camilla and the crowd shared a giggle as Jacob sang, then cheered when he finished his song, the duchess patting him fondly on the head.

During her visit to the sanctuary Camilla met two donkeys with very royal names, William and Harry, each named for one of her step-sons.

She was also given the opportunity to name the latest arrival, a three-week-old foal Camilla dubbed 'Sweet Pea'.

The sanctuary staff later gifted the duchess a framed photo of Sweet Pea, as well as a Donkey Sanctuary branded Monopoly game as birthday gifts.

Speaking of gifts, plenty of royal fans are wondering what Prince Charles gave his wife for her birthday this year, though they likely won't find out any time soon.

The Prince of Wales revealed that for Camilla's 60th birthday he treated her to a live music performance that he conducted himself.

Calling the performance a "special surprise" for his wife of over a decade, Charles clearly puts a lot of thought into birthday gifts, as we're sure he did this year too.
