Speaking about the current lockdowns and restrictions, the 72-year-old said: "A lot of good is going to come out of this horrible, horrible time.
"It's bringing out the best in many people. People are so kind, you see the tiny little things - helping out their neighbours, probably talking to neighbours they've never talked to before and doing their shopping, you know.
"That wonderful man, Captain Tom, walking around and raising all that money, that sort of thing makes you proud to be British, doesn't it?"

"This morning @LLieutenantBeds, The Queen's personal representative in Bedfordshire, delivered a birthday card to @captaintommoore from Her Majesty," the Royal Family shared on Twitter.
"Today we join people across the UK and around the world in wishing Captain Tom Moore a very happy 100th birthday," they added.
