While Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was being held in police custody, his family were nowhere to be seen.

As the former prince's downfall continues, many have been left wondering where Andrew's ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, were during the shocking arrest.

Reports have surfaced that his daughters are trying to evade the former prince, while the question on everyone's lips is "Where is Sarah Ferguson?"

A source told People Magazine today that both his daughters are trying to stay away from their father's mess.

"They have young children, and this is their grandfather — their focus is on protecting their own children from this."

"They're also putting pieces of the puzzle together in real time and realising they may have been used."

"That has to feel like a complete betrayal. They're heartbroken — but a dad is still your dad, and a mum is still your mum.

"They were tucked away in a corner and casually dressed in ski gear and jackets, and Jack was wearing a beanie hat as they both browsed the menu."

"I was surprised to see her because I thought she would be keeping a low profile in light of everything that has been going on."

Meanwhile, there's been no sign of Beatrice in the UK or elsewhere.

Among the fallout, Ferguson has vanished, with reports she may be planning a move to Dubai.

Other reports suggest she plans to seek refuge with her sister, who lives on the NSW Central Coast.
