Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor spotted with mysterious bruise on his face

Images of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor with what appeared to be a large bruise on his face have made headlines across the United Kingdom.

The disgraced former prince was photographed in a vehicle near his new home, Marsh Farm in Norfolk, sporting a shiner that stretched from his right temple to his eye, and down his cheek.

Speaking to The Telegraph, a well-placed insider was quick to clarify the apparent injury was no cause for concern, and that there had been “no drama” involved.

They went on to insist no accident or attack had occurred to cause the bruise, but they could not elaborate further due to medical confidentiality.

It remains unclear when and how the former prince, who has been referred to as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor since being stripped of his royal titles last year, may have obtained the marking. 

The Times have since reported the discoloration “is thought to be the result of a non-serious medical condition.”

This most recent development comes as investigations into his alleged ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein continue.

The ousted royal was arrested at his Sandringham home on suspicion of misconduct in public office in February, but was released from police custody soon after.

The former Duke of York has been based in Sandringham since February, temporarily living at the late Prince Philip’s Wood Farm home before moving into Marsh Farm in April. 

The US Justice Department released files that suggested he may have allegedly shared confidential information with Epstein.

UK police, meanwhile, say the ongoing investigation is broad and could also cover alleged sexual misconduct.

As of May, they have made a fresh appeal for witnesses with any information to come forward.

The former royal remains eighth in line to the throne, however, the UK government recently confirmed it was considering introducing legislation to revoke Andrew’s succession rights.

For that to happen, the 14 Commonwealth realms – of which the King is head of state – would be called upon to give their agreement.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has already said Australia would support the push to remove Andrew from the line of succession with New Zealand and Canada following suit.
