A Reddit user has shared their neighbour's bold idea to curb their parking anxiety

One of the most important questions to ask before driving anywhere, whether it's someone's house in the suburbs or a busy restaurant in the middle of the city, is 'what is the parking situation?'.

You see, there are so many factors to consider.

If you're travelling with more than one person, then imagine just how annoying it would be to arrive at your destination to only reverse parallel parks and realise the person driving is that one person who refuses to attempt such a maneuver.

Or what if you take the largest car out of your group of friends to arrive and see that the parking situation is so tight that you can barely fit. Should've brought the Suzuki Swift instead.

Or maybe the residential street is so packed that you have to park a few blocks away and it actually would've just been easier to Uber there in the first place.

And then there's the signs, the wretched parking signs that are trying to tell you where you can and can't park, for how long you can park there, and what days parking is legal.

But the issue is they're written in the smallest font known to man, so you can't actually read them until you are past the parking spot, right in front of the sign, and the whole opportunity has slipped through your fingers. 

Basically, parking anxiety is a real issue. 

So you might be wondering if there are any solutions, any cures to the sickness that is needing to know the parking situation at any and all costs.

Well, not that we condone it, but one Reddit user has shared their neighbour's irritating albeit very bold solution to the no parking problem, and it has the public up in arms.

It seems this particular neighbour has purchased an electric vehicle without considering the fact they will need an assured parking spot close enough to their home to charge their car.

The irritated person who posted the image claims that parking on the street is a struggle, especially on weekends and anytime after 4pm on weekdays.

So how did this neighbour overcome the issue I'm sure we can see unfolding at this point?

Well, a bit of paint, a little bit of photoshop, and a fake sign seem to have done the trick.

The neighbour in question has gone out of their way to create their own 'reserved' parking spot to solve their problem, but it seems their neighbours have caught on quick.

Reddit users had many solutions to remove the fake parking spot, with plenty saying to just park there anyway because 'what are they going to do about it', and others saying to report the issue to council.

So, although some creativity seems to put an (illegal) band aid on the issue, we recommend to continue asking the question 'what is the parking situation like', and always drive the smallest car with a driver who can tackle a reverse parallel park.
