This puppy reveal photo shoot is too cute for words

Sure, you've heard of the "gender reveal" photo shoot trend - but we think the "puppy reveal" needs to be the next big thing.
 
When her friend Joy Stone, 25, adopted a golden retriever puppy, Texas photographer Carlye Allen hatched an adorable idea.

“I happened to have a tank of helium in the back of my car. If you knew me, this wouldn’t be a surprise at all,” Carlye tells 9Honey. 

Yep. A puppy reveal photoshoot.

Happily, Joy was on board with the idea, realising it was the perfect way to announce the arrival of “fur baby” Rey - named after the Star Wars character - to her friends and family.

“Next thing I knew, we were in my front yard trying to convince a precious ball of fluff to stay in a metal tub,” Carlye adds.

Joy first poses with a box labelled “It’s A…”, which she opens to discover a bunch of yellow balloons.

Typically, this is where the surprise ends. 

Carlye says the most joyful aspect of the shoot was watching Joy interact with Rey, who was rescued from a railway track in Texas.

“Joy was SO excited about the new little addition to her family. I was happy to be able to capture those moments of pure love and joy,” she tells 9Honey.

However, Carlye had a little assistance on the day from her husband Raleigh.

“He was in charge of playing with and keeping an eye on Rey before she was revealed,” she says. 

Although Joy didn’t use the photos to announce Rey’s arrival to her husband Brady, she did surprise him in an equally adorable way.

“When Joy drove home to McKinney, she placed Rey in a special puppy booster seat,” Carlye explains. 

Joy filmed her husband’s reaction - because who wouldn’t? - and shared the results on Facebook.

“In the video, you can hear Joy asking, ‘Are you mad?” Brady responded with an, ‘Of course not!’” Carlye adds.
