Princess Caroline goes grey in style

Princess Caroline has officially gone grey, and the royal couldn't look more chic.

Over the past year, the 64-year-old Princess of Hanover has slowly been making the transition from brown to grey — and she's done it all in classic 'It' girl style.

While the princess has been photographed with grey and subtle blonde notes in her hair over the last few months, more recent pictures show Caroline sporting an entirely grey look.

Visited by her twin nephew and niece, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques of Monaco, the royal flourished her new hairdo on a family outing to the Monaco International Dog Show.

The royal looked fresh and elegant in a simple white shirt, caramel pants and natural makeup — but there was no mistaking the dramatic departure from her hair look at last year's Chanel couture show.

Attending the Chanel Haute Couture Spring/Summer show during Paris Fashion Week in January 2020, the royal was spotted with her signature brunette locks, blow-dried in a shoulder-length bob.

Always considered a reigning 'It' girl of Europe, Caroline's decision to embrace the grey seems one of her boldest moves.

Since the '70s, the royal has been stealing spotlights on the red carpet, and wowing crowds with her effortless French style.

She rose to fame following her 1983 marriage to Italian powerboat racer, socialite, and businessman Stefano Casiraghi.

While the match seemed made in high society heaven, Stefano was tragically killed in a car accident in 1990.

This was her second marriage — her first was to Parisian banker Phillipe Junot, which only lasted two years. It was widely reported that the union was not supported by many close to the princess, particularly her mother, Princess Grace.

While some might've declared the royal unlucky in love, she made a happy union with Prince Ernst-August of Hanover in 1999, after years of rumours that their 'friendship' was perhaps a little more than that.
