Prince of Monaco talks about Princess Grace as a mother

The Prince of Monaco has recalled the often-raucous celebrity parties held in the palace while his mother Grace Kelly was still alive.

Frank Sinatra, Alfred Hitchcock, Cary Grant, and Gregory Peck were all frequent guests at the palace in the tiny principality on the Mediterranean Coast.

Prince Albert has wistfully recounted that Grant used to tell dirty jokes to both his father Prince Rainier, as well as the royal children.

"(Cary Grant) and my father used to have a have a field day telling jokes," he told CBS.

The prince took CBS cameras through the palace, talking about changes Princess Grace made to the décor, including turning a guards' room into the family room.

"She was a very loving and caring mother," Albert said.

"And she not only made sure that she gave us enough attention and enough love and that we had everything we needed, but she was so caring toward other people, too."

Albert said his favourite films starring his Oscar-winning mother were Rear Window and High Noon.
