Prince Albert makes an appearance without Princess Charlene

Prince Albert of Monaco has made a solo appearance following a recent reunion with wife Princess Charlene.

Prince Albert, 64, was spotted watching West Ham take on Manchester City in a Premier League match at London Stadium on May 15 which ended in a 2-2 draw.

The royal, who was looking solemn, was dressed sharply in a navy suit, light blue shirt and stripped tie.

Prince Albert is a West Ham fan and he was sure to attend the match during which team captain Mark Noble was bade farewell following his retirement announcement.

The royal appeared to be alone, with wife Princess Charlene absent and his children Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, both seven, presumed to be at home.

Princess Charlene, 44, recently returned to the public eye, resuming royal duties on April 30, 2022, after more than a year out of the spotlight.

She attended the Monaco E-Prix with her family on May 1 and then the Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament for under 12s with her family.

Princess Charlene had been admitted to a private health clinic in Switzerland in November 2021. At the time, Prince Albert said his wife was suffering a condition he described as "exhaustion, both emotional and physical".

Prior to this, Princess Charlene had travelled to South Africa to continue her charity work where she would contract a severe infection and be forced to remain there for treatment before returning home.

During her long absence photos of Prince Albert and his two children appeared, with the twins holding signs which read "We miss you Mommy" and "We love you Mommy".

There was speculation during her absence as to the status of the couple's marriage, which Prince Albert publicly denied.

He told People at the time: "She didn't leave Monaco in a huff! She didn't leave because she was mad at me or at anybody else… She didn't go into exile. It was absolutely just a medical problem which had to be treated."
