'My family is putting too much pressure on me to become a mum'
I've been talking about wanting to be a mum since I was about five years old. My mum tells me I was pretty much born maternal so when I got married at the age of 23 to my first husband, people expected we'd have a baby quite quickly.
Sadly, we broke up by the time I was 25 and there was no baby. While I'm very keen to be a mother, I'm in no huge rush.
So now I've met a new man and we're engaged to be married in the next six months, people are constantly asking us when we will start a family – and it's driving me crazy!

I'm one of four daughters and that means my parents and my sisters are obsessed with the idea of there being a baby in the family soon. Now that I'm in my early 30s I just don't feel very maternal right now.
There are other things I want to do with my life before I have a baby.
Is it such a crime that I want to be able to focus on my fiancé Mike?
I think that one reason my first marriage failed is that we were both married to our jobs. We didn't spend enough time to together and then we just drifted apart. There were no hard feelings it just didn't work out.

Now I'm with Mike, who I say is the love of my life, I want to make sure everything is perfect. And that means spending time together without the pressure of starting a family right away.
But my family just won't accept that. The other day my mother came over and bought a present with her. I was horrified that instead of a house warming present, she gave me a little unisex baby outfit.
I got a bit upset with her, but I know she was coming from a loving place. She is just dying to be a grandmother again and I get that.

My sister Andrea is always telling me that I need to quit drinking if I want to have a healthy baby. When I tell her that I'm not actually trying to get pregnant right now because I want to wait a couple of years, she tries to frighten me with her own sad story
A few years ago, Andrea had a miscarriage and then she struggled for the next three years to fall pregnant again. She went on IVF and now they have their little boy. But just because she had trouble getting pregnant doesn't mean the same thing will happen to me.
I don't need to hear her scary story over and over again.

Another sister, Marta, doesn't want children and doesn't have a partner but she is the most vocal about me having a baby. In fact, she annoys Mike a lot, telling him to hurry up and get me pregnant.
He loves my family but he says it's getting a bit too much, constantly having to listen to my sisters harass us about having a baby.
We've started to ignore their comments and hope that they'll get the hint that we're not going to say anything until – and if – we decide that we are ready.
