The most romantic moments of Paris 2024
With the Olympics being hosted in Paris, it comes as no surprise that athletes have shared plenty of romantic moments in the City of Love.
As the Games begin to wrap up, we have compiled the most loved-up moments from the competition.
Many competitors will leave the event with medals and engagement rings, and others with adorable memories they shared with their loved ones.

Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall
This tear-jerking moment has gone viral on social media, and it's not hard to see why.
American Olympian Tara Davis-Woodhall took home gold in the long jump event at Paris 2024.
In video's circulating online, Tara falls back into the sand in disbelief after completing her jump, before getting up and instantly sprinting to her husband, Hunter Woodhall, in the stands.
Hunter, who is a Paralympian set to compete later this month, was seen screaming in the stands, cheering on his wife in a t-shirt that read "Team Tara."
Paris 2024 is the couple's second Olympic Games together having both competed at Tokyo 2020.
Hunter is a track and field athlete born with fibular hemimelia leading him to have both his legs amputated below the knee at 11-months old.
At Tokyo, he took home a bronze medal for the men's 400m T62 race. That same year Tara left with sixth place in her sport, making her gold medal at Paris 2024 that much sweeter.
Following his wife's success, Hunter took to Instagram to celebrate with a photo of the pair in front of the Eiffel Tower.
"No words to describe how proud of you I am. No luck involved, you earned this," he wrote.
"Discipline, work ethic, and grit. These are the moments and this is your moment. Soak it in ❤️"
Saya Sakakibara and Romain Mahieu
Saya Sakakibara and her boyfriend Romain Mahieu shared a heartwarming and impressive moment in Paris 2024 after each nabbing Olympic medals.
Upon winning, the Aussie BMX rider let out a massive scream and was quickly embraced by her Mahieu – who had won a bronze medal for France in the Men's BMX Final moments earlier.
Sakakibara and Mahieu have been together since at least 2019.
The pair won a race during the Tokyo Olympic circuit and made their relationship public.
Huang Yaqiong and Liu Yuchen
When Huang Yaqiong claimed the gold medal in badminton mixed doubles, her Olympic teammate got down on one knee.
Men's doubles player Liu Yuchen gave Huang a bouquet of flowers and asked her to marry him.
"For me, the proposal is very surprising because I have been preparing for the game," the athlete told the Associated Press.
"Today I am an Olympic champion, and I got proposed [to], so that's something I didn't expect."
Sarah Steyaert and Charlotte Picon
French sailing partners Sarah Steyaert and Charlotte Picton debuted at the games three years ago, revealing their respective partners would propose to them if they brought home a gold or silver medal.
Even though they landed a bronze medal, that didn't stop their boyfriends from proposing when they returned to shore.
Payton Otterdahl and Maddy Nilles
US shot putter Payton Otterdahl got down on one knee under the Eiffel Tower to propose to his partner of eight years, Maddy Nilles.
"Meanwhile, in the City of Love..." he captioned the adorable proposal pic with the Eiffel Tower and Olympic rings in the background.
"I love you forever, Maddy Nilles!" Otterdahl added with a red heart emoji.
In another snap, the newly-engaged couple kissed under the iconic Paris monument to celebrate the milestone.
Alice Finot and Bruno Martínez
French Olympian Alice Finot broke the European record for the 3,000m steeplechase event when she rushed to the stands to take in the moment with her loved ones.
In one of the cutest moments of the Games, Finot got down on one knee and proposed to her partner, Spanish triathlete Bruno Martínez Bargiela.
Finot used one of her Olympic pins as a makeshift engagement ring in the moment.
Bargiela then appeared to say yes, with a huge smile on his face, before the couple shared a sweet embrace and kiss.
Armand Duplantis and Desiré Inglander
Armand "Mondo" Duplantis, the Swedish-American pole vaulter who broke his own world record, celebrated the moment by immediately running to his girlfriend.
In a scene that looked straight out of a film, Desiré Inglander was waiting in the stands, cheering her boyfriend on, when he rushed over to her and gave her a Hollywood-worthy kiss.
The moment was recorded and posted to Instagram and TikTok, quickly going viral and amassing over 36 million views.
"My boyfriend just broke the world record in the Olympics," Englander wrote in her video.
Duplantis, 24, won the gold medal and set a new record with a jump of 6.25 metres.
Emma McKeon and Cody Simpson
As Emma McKeon made Olympics history by becoming Australia's most decorated Olympian, her partner and fellow athlete Cody Simpson was by her side to celebrate her win.
Simpson spoke to 9News reporter Damian Ryan in Paris following his girlfriend's win.
He said it was "crazy", adding with a smile on his face, "She will be so humble about it. She will never say it herself. It's special what she's done."
He shared that the Olympian worked hard until the last second to earn her medal.
"She's had a blistering swim this morning because she wanted to be in the final tonight and get on the podium. I'm proud of her getting that done," Simpson said.
