Royal aides preventing 'competition' between Sussexes and Cambridges

Amidst the rumours of an royal feud between the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a royal expert has claimed the palace is avidly trying to prevent "competition" between the former royal 'fab four'.

Vanity Fair royal correspondent and author Katie Nicholl told The Sun, royal aides try to "avoid diary clashes" between the Sussexes and Cambridges in order to steer clear of both couples being "pitted against each other".

With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle set to embark on a royal tour to southern Africa and Prince William and Kate Middleton set to go to Pakistan on a royal tour both this coming Autumn, Nicholl believes the palace will try to avoid "too many clashes".

The royal biographer also explained the reason for the splitting of the Cambridge and Sussex royal households and of the Royal Foundation is so both parties can "pursue their own trajectories".

“What courtiers will be hoping is that aren’t going to be any future clashes or conflict of interest or the chance to pit one couple against the other,” she explained.

Last month, Kensington Palace confirmed the Royal Foundation, which was founded by Prince William and Prince Harry in 2009 together, would become "The Royal Foundation will become the principal charitable and philanthropic vehicle for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge" later this year.

The news of the dissolution of William and Harry's joint charity, which also involved Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, came just 16 months after the 'fab four' sat down together at the Royal Foundation Forum in February 2016, advocating that their joint charity efforts under the theme 'Making a Difference Together'.

Just over a year later, the scope of things for the 'royal fab four' looks very different.

The Sussexes have since moved away from Kensington Palace, where they were once next door neighbours to the Cambridges, and they have also split their royal household from William and Kate.

The couple's communications are now run out of Buckingham Palace, and the Sussex couple launched their own Instagram account in March.
