Model found dead hours after calling online bullies 'cowards'

A Pakistani model who was reportedly the target of online bullies has been found dead, just hours after calling her faceless attackers "cowards".

Anam Tanoli was a rising star within the fashion industry and had gained a large following through her social media platforms.

She had recorded a video, which she posted on Instagram, slamming those who had lashed out at her.

"Bullying is bad. Don't do it, OK? It's just a coward's way out, and it's a pathetic way out, quite frankly," the 26-year-old says in the video.

During the clip, Tanoli is wearing a t-shirt with the statement: 'Back off Bullies'.

She urged her followers to confront bullies, saying they are "just trying to take their misery out on you.

"Don't let it affect you, don't let it bring you down. They're not worth it, they're not worth your misery."

Police in Lahore are reportedly treating her death as suicide.

Tanoli's family say she had suffered from depression and was under "mental stress" before her death.

She was due to meet with a therapist the day her body was found, reports The Sun.

Fans expressed their shock and sadness at Tanoli's death, with many saying fame and celebrity didn't shield people from depression.

One wrote on Twitter: "Please stop assuming people’s mental health based on their social media".

While another posted, "High time our system respects the fashion/entertainment industry & let go of fascism, hatred, bigotry".
