Olympia Valance welcomes baby boy with husband Thomas Bellchambers

Congratulations are in order for Olympia Valance and her AFL star husband Thomas Bellchambers who have just become first-time parents.

The duo have just announced the safe arrival of their baby boy and revealed his name in a sweet post on Valance's Instagram.

A sweet black and white photo shows Valance and Bellchambers' bundle of joy sleeping soundly in a cot.

Bellchambers' hand – which is almost as big as his tiny newborn son – rests softly atop his blankets.

"Billy Bellchambers 💙 03/12/2024," Valance simply captioned the post.

Thousands were quick to like the Aussie actress and model's post with hundreds of friends, family and fans sharing their well wishes for the new parents.

"OMFG congratulations," wrote Aussie cook, TV and internet personality Khanh Ong.

"OMG CONGRATULATIONS!!!! So happy for you both well done babe! I can't wait to meet Billy," wrote celebrity hairstylist Marie Uva.

"Beautiful beautiful news. Congratulations and welcome to the world Billy," wrote Aussie model and actress Megan Gale.

Valance and Bellchambers announced they were expecting their first child back in August following a challenging fertility journey.

"I've been hiding away for the past 5 and a half months to make sure this wasn't all a dream. But you kept growing and growing and it's starting to look like our dreams have finally come true," the Aussie actress wrote on Instagram alongside an image of her holding a pregnancy test while her partner, Thomas Bellchambers, cradles her bump.

Valance has been open about her fertility battle, adding that she "truly believed" she and Bellchambers would never welcome a child of their own.

"So when I saw this positive pregnancy test I have to admit, at the time, I wasn't jumping for joy," she continued.

"I was full of fear because that's all I've known. But as the weeks kept going by it was hard to wipe the smile off our faces."

After announcing the news, Valance spoke to 9honey Celebrity about her decision to delay sharing their happy news with the world and how good it felt when they finally did.

"It was nice to finally do it. I was kind of hibernating, obviously my family and friends knew, but when you go through so much fertility bad luck, I wanted to hold back as long as I could," Valance said.

"But by the time it was 20 weeks, I was like, 'Alright, enough is enough. I'm so big at the moment I can't leave the house.'"

Valance went on to praise modern technology and IVF, which she has used, in a bid to give hope to others who might be struggling.

"At the end of the day, there was always options for me, it might be a different path," she says.

"We live in a world of science. As hard as it is, if you really want it, there's always a way."
