Age doesn't mean a thing to this Russian agency exclusively for older models

Proving that life really does begin at 40, Russian modelling agency Oldushka only boasts models over 45-years-old.

While we are used to having images of unbelievably wrinkle-free young models thrust into our faces every day, this agency only represents more mature men and women with the youngest being 45-years-old and the oldest 85-years-old.

This is the first Russian agency that solely represents ‘aged models’ and came from humble beginnings.

Photographer Igor Gavar was inspired to create the agency after working on a project that captured the style of retirees for his blog, also called Oldushka.

Most of the models that Gavar has on his books are over 60 and get regular work in Russia.

The Moscow-based company’s models regularly appear in catalogues and advertising campaigns.

Gavar’s silver-haired beauties are becoming well-known faces as they are selected to work with local designers and brands and featured on magazine covers and fashion spreads.

What’s more, Oldushka not only gives models over 45 a great platform to continue working, but it also provides a space to explore a new career.

As reported by Vogue, 62-year-old Valentina Yassen used to be a professional theatre actress, now she is enjoying time behind the camera lens as a model.

The agency is certainly pushing the boundaries and may be single-handedly changing the face of fashion stereotypes as we know it.

Gavar told Vogue: “They are an inspiring example to show that it is possible to look beautiful and be your age.”

The Oldushka Instagram doesn't avoid using terms such as #greyhairmodel and instead uses the label with pride.

Now, thanks to Oldushka, beauty simply doesn’t run out at a certain age.
