'I haven't given up yet': What Nine's stars wanted to be when they were in Kindy

When we were children, the possibilities of our future careers seemed endless: astronaut, firefighter, superhero, or even prima ballerina.

At five, the world seemed easy enough to grab with both hands, and anything seemed possible. 

In the spirit of this child-like hope, we asked some of Nine's biggest stars to reveal what careers they dreamt up for themselves as kindergarteners.

"Making houses. I didn't know what that meant but I always wanted to make houses. 

"I used to draw cars too, so that could have happened if I had any reference point of how you get into car design, but I didn't, so houses it is."

"I'm not sure if I had any idea that early on, but something must have stuck as my first career goal was to be a Kindergarten teacher.

"Then I did work experience at a daycare centre and they put me to work cleaning all of the little potties – that changed my mind!"

"Growing up I had a fascination with motorsport. I always wanted to race Formula 1. After a solid stint racing go karts and winning junior and senior state championships it was time to step up.

"I'm afraid I didn't have the budget to make the next step."

"When I was in kindergarten, I wanted to be a cowboy. I love horses and wanted to be able to save the damsel in distress aboard my trusty steed. It's a dream I haven't given up yet."

"I think that like many little girls, I just wanted to be as amazing as my mum who had so many fun stories of travelling the world as an International Hostie for Qantas… I don't think I'm too far off the mark."
