NRL star Nathan Cleary gushes about girlfriend Mary Fowler as she prepares to make her Paris Fashion Week debut

Aussie footballer Nathan Cleary made viewers swoon when he spoke about his Matildas star girlfriend Mary Fowler during a live interview on Nine's Today show.

The Penrith Panthers star, 27, appeared on the breakfast TV show on Wednesday and was asked about her upcoming runway appearance at Paris Fashion Week.

Fowler, 22, is set to the walk the Le Défilé L'Oréal Paris runway in the French capital on September 29.

As images of Fowler doing a photoshoot flashed up on screen, he remarked: "She does look beautiful.

"She's very nervous actually about walking down the runway, she's been trying to get on FaceTime and show me her catwalk, but I said just be natural and make sure you show a smile because its beautiful."

"So I'm really pumped for her to do that, she's really excited and it should be good."

When asked if he passed on to her "any tips", he added: "God no... she holds up that end of the relationship."

Soccer star Fowler, who plays for Manchester City, will join the likes of Helen Mirren and Kendall Jenner on the star-studded catwalk at Paris Fashion Week.

She is a L'Oréal Paris brand ambassador.

"This will be my first time walking a runway, and while it's a little outside of my comfort zone, the opportunity to walk alongside extraordinary women in a celebration of women's empowerment, inclusion, and sisterhood is truly inspiring," she said.

Two years ago, the pair went Instagram official with their romance after months of speculation.

"That's life…🍦," he wrote in a post at the time, showing a picture of the pair at the beach together.

Fowler recently hinted at family plans with the footballer and said on the Keegan and Company podcast: "I really want to have a big family."

"The only dream I have at the moment is to be a mum and have heaps of kids and be in a space where they can play outside a lot."
