Wolfe was arrested in Portland, with authorities announcing the apprehension at a press conference on Friday.
No bodies have been found, however investigators say they believe the mother and son are dead and that they have sufficient probable cause to arrest the man.
It was later revealed that Wolfe is married to another women, however DNA testing confirmed he is the father of William, according to the Statesman Journal.

It hasn't been made clear what the relationship between Wolfe and Fretwell was at the time of her disappearance, although a friend of the mother says the two had an affair when they worked together at McMinnville steel mill.
The friend told KATU2, "There was never a relationship there. She never knew he was married until after a couple weeks of her being pregnant. Then he offered to pay for an abortion."
She also alleged the pair were involved in a custody dispute over the boy.
Wolfe is being held without bail.
