Police reports state the baby was still strapped to a car seat when she was thrown down the embankment. She was found lying in a wooded area at the base of the drop after someone heard her cries.
The previous day the mother had allegedly reported her baby missing, claiming they had both been kidnapped and she had managed to escape their captors, leaving her baby behind.
This false report lead to hours of searching for the child, who was eventually found with only minor injuries, after having rolled out of the car seat after being thrown down the ravine.
Authorities are considering additional charges against the mother. She is being held on bond.
