Woolworths follows in Aldi and Costco's footsteps with major move

Woolworths has announced it will soon be available via food delivery platform DoorDash.

DoorDash has made significant ground in the food delivery space in 2025, including a exclusive collaboration with Costco in February and with Aldi in July.

The Woolworths partnership is being described as representing "a significant shift in Australia's on-demand grocery landscape, bringing customers more choice and greater access to the fresh produce, everyday essentials and the weekly favourites they rely on".

Through the DoorDash app, Aussie shoppers will soon be able to browse and purchase a wide range of Woolworths products, including pantry staples, fresh food and household essentials, with fast and reliable delivery from stores nationwide.

The supermarket's products were previously only available for delivery via Uber Eats, the Woolworth's Group's MilkRun app and via the Woolworths website.

On Demand grocery deliveries now represent 40 per cent of all ecommerce orders for Woolworths, with more than more than 12 million weekly visits to its app and website.

The Woolworths website recently added Delivery Now, a faster grocery delivery service for customers, and has also expanded its Direct to Boot locations, allowing customers to pick up their orders in under 60 minutes.

Coles has been available via DoorDash since 2022 but will leave the platform to enter an exclusive arrangement with Uber Eats later this month.

Woolworths Group Managing Director, eComX, Amitabh Mall, said the move will help customers who are looking for "more fast and flexible options to fulfill their grocery needs".

He added that Woolworths is continuing to "invest in a range of On Demand options to meet customers where they are".

"Partnering now with DoorDash allows us to add another convenient option that will leverage our extensive store network to reach more customers, more often, through platforms they already use every day."

The exact date Woolworths will be available on DoorDash isn't known.

Its store front is yet to appear on the DoorDash app.
