Australia’s major supermarkets are pulling out the big guns, launching rival kitchen-themed collectible ranges for shoppers in the lead up to the festive season.

These releases follow the huge success of Woolworths’ Disney Ooshies, which resulted in a spike in sales as shoppers changed their grocery habits to maximise their chances of completing the collection.

Coles launched a new range of cookware collectibles, the Curtis Stone Summer Entertaining range, on September 16, partnering once again with the celebrity chef.

The exclusive eight-piece range offers practical and stylish kitchen and serving essentials customers can pick up just by doing their regular shop.

The range includes cooking shears, a utensils set, an oil pourer, a grill press, a serving bowl with utensils, and a cast iron skillet.

Shoppers will earn one cookware credit for every $20 spent at the supermarket, with the promotion expected to run until January 19, 2027, or while stocks last.

This latest Coles range goes head-to-head with Woolworths’ Fissler cookware promotion, which launched on September 9.

For this promotion, customers need to spend $20 to earn one Container Credit, in-store or online. The range features eight pieces of stainless steel and glass containers.

While adult collectibles promotions such as these always perform well for the major supermarkets, neither has reached the heights of the Disney Ooshie promotion earlier this year.

The frenzy resulted in hundreds of shoppers lining up at multiple Woolworths locations to try and complete their collections.

Social media became alight with desperate parents searching for missing Ooshies and some were offered for sale on eBay for hundred and thousands of dollars.

Prices range from $10 to $56.

Introducing a range of miniature supermarket products for children that can be purchased outright may be a way for Woolworths to continue to ride the wave of Ooshies success.

Woolworths is also running a Fissler cookware promotion, which kicked off on September 9.
