Millie Bobby Brown's powerful six-word response to comments about her appearance

Millie Bobby Brown has shared an important message about commenting on women's looks and bodies.

The 20-year-old Stranger Things star wrote six telling words to her Instagram story, days after one of her posts was flooded with critical comments about her appearance.

"Women grow!! not sorry about it :)" the actress posted to her over 63 million followers.

Earlier in the week, Brown shared a mirror selfie to Instagram in which she wore a pretty pink dress with a face of make up on and her hair out in natural waves.

In the photo, she appears to be pouting her lips.

The picture caught the attention of social media trolls who commented on the star's looks, suggesting she looked older than her actual age.

Some even speculated the star had undergone plastic surgery or had cosmetic procedures like Botox and lip filler done.

Others were quick to jump to Brown's defense and call out those criticising her.

"She's not a kid anymore. You're still expecting her to look like baby Eleven," one person said, referring to Brown's Stranger Things character she has played since age 12.

"Why does everyone think it's acceptable to comment on someone's looks?" another person pointed out.

The star's husband Jake Bongiovi left a sweet message under her post, commenting three white heart emojis.

The star opened up about dealing with body shaming in a 2022 interview with Glamour, after being in the spotlight from a young age.

"Some of the things that I found harder were people criticising my body, who I am, the kind of person I am," she said when asked what advice she'd give her younger self.

"Things like that – I didn't ask for those things. They're cyberbullying."

Brown made headlines last year for her wedding to music icon Jon Bon Jovi's son Jake.

It was first reported in May that Brown and Bonjiovi had secretly wed after getting engaged in April 2023 at ages 19 and 20 respectively.

The Enola Holmes actress confirmed in an Instagram post in October they were married.

"Forever and always, your wife," she captioned photos of her and her husband from their wedding day.

Brown stunned in a gorgeous lace gown and veil by designer Galia Lahav.

The ceremony was officiated by her Stranger Things co-star Matthew Modine.

To mark the end of 2024, Brown posted an Instagram video with some of her highlights from the year, including clips from her lavish wedding.

2024 marked another milestone for Brown: she officially wrapped filming the fifth and final season of Stranger Things in December.

In an emotional clip from her goodbye speech to the cast and crew on set, which she posted on Instagram, the actress said she was "nowhere near ready" to leave the team.
