Melbourne Easter signage causes controversy: 'Ridiculous'
Christmas has wrapped up and Easter is the next holiday on the horizon. As stores and suburbs begin to take down the Christmas decor, some city districts are causing a controversy with the swift emergence of Easter decorations.
In a post shared by 3AW Breakfast on Twitter, a photo of a "Happy Easter" banner erected on a main street in Heidelberg, Victoria, caused a stir.

The post was shared with the caption, "Err... only 90 sleeps until Easter! A listener spotted this in Heidelberg and sent it in to the #RumourFile."
3AW fans were quick to point out the premature timing, with one user writing, "Still reeling from having missed Xmas…. Can't bare to think about Easter. Finding it hard to look forward to things anymore in case they don't happen."
Another joked, "While your taking Christmas down you may as well put Easter up."
A third added, "Ridiculous. As are supermarkets with aisles full of Easter eggs."

The news follows a post earlier this week which revealed the note that a disappointed Coles shopper in Perth penned to the supermarket giant because she deemed the arrival of hot cross buns too early.
The note, placed on a packet of hot cross buns, was discovered by another shopper and read, "The last time I checked, the celebration of the birth and death of Jesus were not separated by less than a month."
More fuel was added to the fire when Coles and Woolworths were called out for stocking the delicious Easter buns on shelves on Boxing Day.
One irritated shopper wrote, "Are you serious?!! Christmas dinner is barely even digested and already you've whipped out the hot cross buns??!"
9Honey has reached out Heidelberg Central Traders Association for comment about the Easter decorations.
