Melania Trump wears dress designed by former First Lady

First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, has chosen to wear a dress designed by a former first lady at a recent event.

Melania and US President Donald Trump were honouring the 2017 National Hockey League Stanley Cup Champions, The Pittsburgh Penguins, in the East Room of the White House on October 10, when the 47-year-old wore the dress.

It's a green-belted shirt dress designed by British brand Cefinn, a company founded earlier this year by Samantha Cameron, wife of former UK Prime Minister David Cameron.

The First Lady kept the dress on for a visit to Lily's Place, a centre that focuses on child development, later that day.

She wrote on her official Instagram account, "Today's visit to Lily's Place WV was incredibly special.

"Let us find ways to create more opportunities to help children grow into happy, healthy adults."

Glamour magazine identified the dress, suggesting it was Melania’s latest strike against her husband’s first wife, Ivana Trump, who this week cheekily claimed to be the ‘real First Lady of the United States’, boasting that she was able to call the White House whenever she liked.

Ivana is promoting her new book Raising Trump which chronicles her time with the now-US president.
