Meghan Markle and Prince Harry break royal tradition with wedding cake
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's upcoming wedding is doing away with royal tradition if this news is anything to go by.
The pair have reportedly shunned a traditional fruit wedding cake for their nuptials in May in favour of an organic lemon and elderflower version, created by one of Meghan's favourite bakers.
The cake will be decorated with spring flowers and buttercream icing, according to a statement by Kensington Palace.

Californian pastry chef and food writer Claire Ptak — who owns Violet Bakery in East London — has been enlisted to create the wedding centrepiece.
Meghan previously interviewed Ptak for her defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig.
The chef shared the news on her Instagram page, Violet by Claire Ptak.
She said was excited to be involved in such a historic event.
"Knowing that they really share the same values as I do about food provenance, sustainability, seasonality and most importantly flavour, makes this the most exciting event to be a part of," she said in the short statement released by the Palace.
The bride and groom-to-be "are very much looking forward to sharing this cake with their wedding guests on May 19th", the Palace said.
Prince William and Duchess Kate also broke with tradition by having two royal wedding cakes at their 2011 nuptials.
The first was an eight-tiered fruit cake, while the second was an unbaked chocolate biscuit cake from British biscuit brand, McVities — a favourite from William's childhood.
