Of all the places you could propose to your partner, outside a toilet cubical on a plane during a flight to Cancun, Mexico probably isn't on the top of the list.

But this one turned out well, with passengers filming and cheering a man on when he decided to get down on bended knee while his girlfriend used the lavatory mid-flight.

In a video shared on TikTok @mzzgina13 we see a man on bended knee outside an occupied plane toilet cubical, excited passengers filming on their smart phones.

Perhaps he was too nervous to wait until they reached their destination. Regardless of why he chose this particular moment, it turned out well.

He waited in silence for his girlfriend to exit the cubical and some fellow travellers were holding up signs that read: "Will you marry me?"

As soon as she saw him on bended knee, she became immediately overwhelmed with emotion.

She said "yes" and the pair embraced, before standing back to gaze into each other's eyes before resuming their embrace.

The video has been viewed 1.6 million times on TikTok, and while the proposal was successful, not everyone was impressed with the man's choice of location.

"Please don't propose to me like this," joked one TikToker.

"Am I the only one that thought 2 people were gonna come out the bathroom lol," another said.

"Now if she said no that ride back would've been stressful," added another.

"I was proposed to coming out of the bathroom and I was not happy," said one TikToker.

"The way I have IBS please don't do this! I might have just lit up the bathroom," added another.

Another TikToker commented: "I mean…you had to wait until I was pooping to have everyone looking at me? Glad I washed my hands!"

Then there were those who thought the proposal was "sweet."

"I love how all the passengers participated to make this memorable for them," one commented, with another describing the moment as "sweet."

"It's the entire flights' participation that touched me," another observed.

"I'm loving how the passengers were in on it," one TikToker said.

"Now everyone gotta come to the wedding," added another.
