A US man has lost a staggering 31 kilograms and now looks like a Disney prince.

Now he is a viral sensation, and rightly so.

Jeffrey S Kendall, 26, says he lost the weight while caring for his sick mother, who suffered a brain aneurysm in 2015.

"She was in a coma and rehab hospitals for seven months until they deemed she had plateaued and was to be released since insurance would no longer cover her," the devoted son told Love What Matters.

So Jeffrey moved in with his mum and devoted himself to her care.

"I had seen her in the hospitals where she could barely speak, I had seen her in the ICU where she couldn't," he said.

"I had seen her on the floor unable to wake up. To see her stare without the longing of a mother was heart-wrenching.

"It put a world of self-pity and pain in perspective to me."

Inspired by his mother's strength, Jeffrey started taking better care of himself as well. As he lost weight, friends told him he was beginning to resemble a Disney prince.

So he shared a photo on Reddit, writing, "I was an overweight youth, I was bullied growing up. I've lived my life with body-image and confidence issues."

Jeffrey said he and a good friend both wanted to get in shape and started out small, with light weights and push-ups each day.

"Soon I was waking up and going for walks while listening to uplifting music,” he explained.

The 26-year-old said he kept on setting himself new fitness goals and before he knew it was jogging, doing sprints and losing weight - not to mention growing long, luscious hair.

Now the aspiring actor and model is being asked about hair care on his popular Instagram account, on which he has fun posing like a Disney prince.

"A lot of people have been asking my hair care routine. I don’t use any products besides shampoo and conditioner though I’m still learning and trying things out. In terms of care, I just condition daily and use shampoo every 5-7 days.

"I brush before I shower and before bed and wear a headband a lot around the house to keep it more tidy.

"I’ll be happy to share what I learn and like as I go along, for now, I brushed my hair and took a pic. Hope you have a good day."

As for Jeffrey’s mother, she's on the mend.

"She's the toughest person I know and gives me a constant appreciation for life,” he said.
