Krystal Hipwell (née Forscutt) from Big Brother has given birth to her 'rainbow baby', a little girl who joins big brother Sonny, three.

However the delivery, which happened on May 31, didn't quite go to plan.

As the personal trainer and model explained on Instagram, she suffered a post-partum haemorrhage and had to undergo emergency surgery to save her life.

"You were our missing piece," she announced today. "Our family is now complete. Nakota Ruth Hipwell. Born the 31st May, weighing 3.7 kilos. Thankfully a quick labour via vaginal delivery and somehow zero pain relief.

"Unfortunately straight after birth I was rushed to emergency as I suffered a post partum haemorrhage and had to go into surgery."

The Footy Show host Erin Molan is due to give birth to her first child any day now. She joined Deb Knight on the Honey Mums podcast to discuss her fear of giving birth and excitement to meet her first child:

Hipwell said she had to spend 24 hours in intensive care and couldn't be with her new baby girl.

"But lucky she had her daddy taking care of her," she said. "I have now been reunited with her and am so relieved to finally have our beautiful and perfectly healthy little angel in my arms.

The 30-year-old became a household name when she appeared on the 2006 series of Australia's Big Brother.

Late last year she shared the news she had suffered a miscarriage at 12 weeks, her second such loss in seven months.

"It was the day before my 12 week scan, the day before I found out that this little Angel's heart beat was no longer," she shared on Instagram.

"Only now do I have the courage to share this in the hope that other women might support one another."

Soon after she announced she was expecting a 'rainbow baby' with husband, builder Neil Hipwell.
