Kate Middleton's heel got stuck in a grate, and she handled it like a pro

This just in: even royals aren’t immune from the fashion mishap of getting a stiletto heel lodged in a metal grate.
 
Kate Middleton found herself in this very situation while visiting an addiction treatment centre in Essex on Wednesday.
 
The Duchess of Cambridge, who is due to welcome her third child in April, was busy greeting staff outside and didn’t notice her heel had slipped into the drain cover beneath her.

Without missing a beat, the 36-year-old took a moment to dislodge her foot - as the line of men looked on, bemused - before continuing her duties.
 
This is a woman who spends a large portion of her life wearing high heels, so it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that Catherine handled the situation like a pro.

She even made a joke at her expense while speaking with the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Essex Jonathan Douglas-Hughes, who famously took a tumble when he met the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge in 2016.

“I reminded her [about the fall]," Douglas-Hughes said of his conversation with the royal mum of two.

"My wife told her that she would ensure I didn’t do it again. Then [Catherine] caught her heel. She said, 'Oh…do the same as you!’ ”
 
It’s not the first time Catherine has endured a sticky stiletto situation.

At an Irish Guards Parade during her pregnancy with Prince George in 2013, she had a similar pair of black heels get stuck in a grate.
