Karl Stefanovic takes a bath with 30kg of worms in TODAY challenge
Karl Stefanovic has kicked off his Thursday morning by taking a bath…
...with 30kg of worms. Naturally.
Throughout this week, TODAY’s panel stars have been subjected to their biggest fears on-air.
However, Stefanovic declared he wasn’t scared of anything, forcing co-host Georgie Gardner and entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins to come up with something on his behalf.
And so, the 43-year-old found himself lying in a bathtub in a safety suit and a pair of goggles as a tub containing thousands of mealworms was emptied on top of him.

However, this last-minute plea wasn't enough to save him from the wriggly fate awaiting him.

Wilkins appeared to take particular delight in tipping the worms, typically used as food for snakes and lizards, onto his horrified colleague.
“No, Dickie, this is not cool. I’ve only ever been nice to you!,” Stefanovic pleaded from the tub.

“There’s no harm in seeing you squirm, just for a minute,” she shot back.
After all of two minutes lying with the worms, Stefanovic removed the safety suit to reveal the mealworms had made their way inside it.
The overall verdict? “That is gross, man”.
