Julie Bishop has been making the most of her downtime lately, revealing her latest beauty endeavour in a fun Instagram post.

Taking to social media, the former Minster for Foreign Affairs shared that she had embarked on her first foray into the world of fragrance making.

During a day off in Perth, she developed her own scent – but she won't be releasing it to Aussie shoppers.

"What to do on a rainy day in Perth? Make your own perfume!" she captioned a snap of herself formulating her fragrance.

"Thank you @heartwoodau - very happy with my rich floral and spice combo."

A second snap revealed her showing off the perfume she'd put together, which she cleverly named "JBISH".

Heartwood Natural Harmony is a wellbeing and natural beauty retailer that offers shoppers the chance to make their own fragrances in store.

Shoppers can then personalise a label for their fragrance and take home their very own, one-of-a-kind scent.

According to the brand's website: "Heartwood's natural fragrances are created from raw materials of natural origin such as flowers, bark, roots, resins and woods - obtained via extraction, distillation or expression."

"We have the rare luxury of using authentic Indian sandalwood (Santalum album), sustainably grown in Northern Australia."

Talk about a luxurious natural beauty product!

Bishop was clearly pleased with her perfume, and Heartwood were just as pleased by her visit, calling it "a treat" on Instagram.

In the past, Bishop has been recognised for her impeccable sense of style and designer wardrobe.

But this dip into beauty has some fans thinking that the former politician should turn JBISH into the real deal.

"I need this," one person commented on her post, another chiming in: "I would totally buy a bottle of JBISH."

Just quietly, we would too, but for now, Bishop is the only one with a bottle of JBISH.
