'Sanitiser-in-Chief' wins over Twitter as people praise Biden inauguration podium cleaner
Millions tuned in to Wednesday's inauguration to see Joe Biden take the oath as the 46th US President and to watch Kamala Harris become the first female Vice President of the United States.
However, lots of viewers were won over by a mystery podium cleaner who tended to his duties diligently between each person at the microphone. And Twitter noticed.
"I came for @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris but I soon found out I was really there for podium sanitiser guy," one person tweeted.

The man dubbed 'Sanitiser-in-Chief' attracted plenty of praise on social media.

"Also the Head Sanitiser in Chief up there is truly an American patriot," one person tweeted.
"He hits that podium with Lysol and sanitiser with .3 seconds of it being vacated, he is ON it. Let's put him in charge of the vaccine rollout tbh"
"The podium sanitiser guy should get his own marching band theme," another person tweeted.

One person asked how much the man was paid, saying he was "really earning his keep".
The grey-haired man was labelled by many as the "unsung hero" of the COVID-safe inauguration ceremony, which took place at the US Capitol on Wednesday.
The star-studded event included performances from Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and country singer Garth Brooks.
