Jess Rowe reveals hilarious way she and Peter Overton 'celebrated' 18 years of marriage

Jessica Rowe has revealed the hilarious way she and husband Peter Overton spent their 18th wedding anniversary this week.

Sharing a sweet photo of the couple in their kitchen on Instagram on Wednesday, she wrote, "18 years ago today I made the best decision of my life — marrying this darling man!"

Rowe revealed the duo were marking the milestone in a rather unconventional way.

In a previous interview with 9Honey, Overton recalled the couple met when Rowe, who was 19, was doing work experience at Nine.

Overton was a sports reporter at the time, and they were both sent out to cover a story about a Russian boxer visiting Australia.

Their first date was at a Thai restaurant in Balmain in June 2001. Since then, the Nine News presenter says, "We've never been apart."

The couple share two daughters, Allegra, 14, and Giselle, 12, with Overton recently telling 9Honey Parenting he loves being a 'girl dad'.

"I privately was hoping we'd have a girl. I don't know why. There is just something about being a dad to a little girl," he said.

"When [Allegra] emerged, I'll never forget going, 'It's a girl!'. I was so thrilled."

The dynamic duo are both media powerhouses, with Overton maintaining his iconic role at Nine and Rowe having worked as a news presenter and host, and is also an author and now runs her podcast The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show.
