Tennis star Jessica Pegula's family wealth has long been the talking point of headlines.

As the daughter of billionaires Terry and Kim Pegula, the 29-year-old athlete is famously the "world's richest tennis player" with a reported whopping $6.7 billion (approx. A$10 billion) family fortune.

But while she's known for her family ties, there's one less talked about person in Pegula's life who travels the world to support her from the stands.

In 2021, Pegula married her longtime love Taylor Gahagen after six years together.

The tennis heiress tied the knot to her fiancé in an intimate North Carolina ceremony before jetting off to Costa Rica for their honeymoon in the summer of 2022.

"It was amazing, it was so much fun," the tennis heiress told WTA after returning from her lavish honeymoon abroad.

"It was just the best experience."

Over the years, the pair have been notoriously private, keeping their romance under wraps and off social media.

While the early days of their relationship has a murky timeline, the couple seemed to soft launch their love in the most notorious way couples do these days: on Instagram.

In 2015, Pegula shared a since deleted post with the relatively unknown Gahagen from what appeared to be a costume party as the athlete reportedly dressed as a vampire.

A year later, the tennis star shared a pic from what appeared to be a date with her rumoured beau attending Hamilton in New York, which is still on her Instagram page.

Gahagan made another rare appearance on the star's Instagram in 2017 as they adorably posed together for the "New Era All-Star party."

But before they began dating, Gahagen already had a connection to the Pegula family.

Gahagen had been working at Pegula Sports and Entertainment since 2013 in marketing and later as an executive of the company.

"I don't think there's anywhere else I would want to work," Gahagen admitted to WKBW TV

The pair continued to keep their romance out of headlines for the next few years as Pegula rose through the tennis rankings.

But the relationship had clearly remained steadfast behind the scenes as they finally said 'I do' in 2021 at the Biltmore Estate.

The newlyweds posed for pictures with their three dogs to mark the special day.

Tennis stars Jennifer Brady, Asia Muhammad and Taylor Townsend were amongst the small group of attendees at the ceremony.

Brady ended up sharing some snaps to Instagram from the day with the heartfelt caption directed at the newlyweds: "Here's to forever @jpegula and @taylorgahagen."

"It's already been one year 😭," Pegula later shared on her first wedding anniversary to Instagram alongside stunning pics from the couple's lush day.

But Gahagan hasn't just supported his now wife from the stands over the years.

Their partnership has extended into the world of business as Gahagan is listed as the vice president of his wife's skincare line, Ready 24, and both founded and runs their animal welfare foundation A Lending Paw alongside Pegula.
